Anything possible in the final: Williamson

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson is confident that anything is possible and New Zealand can claim the trophy as they bid to upset England on their way to a maiden World Cup.

Speaking ahead of the game, when asked to comment on New Zealand going into the final as underdogs, the Kiwi skipper said that anyone can beat anyone and they just have to focus on putting their best performance on show.

Williamson, however, said that England have rightfully earned the favorites tag owing to their impressive performance in the tournament.

Neither of the two finalists have won the tournament before, with England last contesting the final in 1992 where they lost to Pakistan. New Zealand made it to the World Cup final just four years back losing to Australia.

The two sides have met earlier in the tournament where England brushed aside the Kiwi’s with a commanding 119 runs win. New Zealand who finished level on points with Pakistan but qualified for the semi-finals because of their superior run rate ousted tournament favorites India in the semi-finals.
