Changes likely in Pakistan team management

Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Cricket Committee is all set to meet towards the end of July in a high profile sitting where the future of head coach Mickey Arthur, bowling coach Azhar Mehmood, batting coach Grant Flower, chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq and manager Talat Ali will be decided.

According to a report in Urdu Daily Jang, it is likely that all of them will be relieved of their duties owing to their poor performance in their respective roles. PCB managing director Wasim Khan, former skipper Misbah-ul-Haq, former captain Wasim Akram, director academies Mudassar Nazar and director international cricket operations Zakir Khan will be all part of the high profile meeting.

The PCB will take action based on the recommendations of the Cricket Committee. It is likely that new appointments will be made in August before the yet to be finalized tour of Sri Lankan cricket team to Pakistan. The board is determined to make long terms plans with the next world cup in focus.

It is also expected that the board will engage several former players to improve the cricket structure in Pakistan.
